Hello, I’m Eric Meindersma. Up until september 2025 I used the name Telejazzman for all my artistic works. From now on I will use the name Whitmanad.
I was born in Holland, 1960. I’m a popmusician, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and painter. I make my own music, I recorded more than 60 albums with original music.
When I was 28 I had profound spiritual experiences for over a few months. It shaped my life in a big way. Also my music of course. I always remained focused on the insights, the light that fuelled me since those experiences, but gradually life has buried me with the usual worries, distractions, noise. In 2020 I sort of re-awakened, the covid crisis suddenly made me see beyond my daily concerns. It became very obvious to me that there are forces that try very hard to keep us small and controllable. It applies to me personally and also to our society, where government, social order etc try to control us. The powers that be don’t like it when people realise their true potential and become their own masters and can’t be controlled anymore.
So from 2020 on spirituality has become more and more important to me again. In a way it brought me back to 1988. I have started to notice the processes and occurrences that diminished my power more and more; processes that made me shrink again: unhealthy relationships, heartaches, betrayals, work, superficial distractions and on a deeper level spiritual forces that tried to break me. Things that didn’t do me any good, boundaries I forgot to guard, sacrificing my freedom just to keep the peace, compromising just to please people, to keep them happy with a person they could accept. All this took its toll on me, but I didn’t realise it completely until I quite suddenly reached a point where I woke up one morning with the awareness it needed to end. And from then on I started to align my life with divine purpose. It is all about the restoration of light/God, peace, love, truth and joy in a chaotic world. All this has a profound effect on my musical projects, regarding the content and on what I want to achieve with it.
